The Tosa-Ken at StoneWall
This page is about Barbara Smith, Barbara Smith resides in Canada and the litter that we rescued.
The following pictures are disturbing, as with the events that occurred.
Over a period of several years Barbara Had purchased several Tosa-Kens from several breeders. During this Barbara had inquired about Stud service on one of her females that she had purchased from My business partner at the time. The female arrived and would barely come out of the crate. The nails were over grown and she would hit the ground if you jumped up or yelled.
After living at my house for close to a month, she was sent back after much protest by my-self. I was told by my business partner at the time and another breeder that I would be black listed if I did not send her the Tosa back, they said regardless of what the owner did it was non of my concern. Now after many years and more confident and NO PARTNER, I would keep her and try to buy her from this woman.
The next event would be the most disturbing. Being that she lived in Canada I could not go to the place of residency. I had to go on her word. Now Barbara owed a puppy back from the first breeding on Another female that she had purchased many years prior, before the breeding insistent. Barbara had a litter and another breeder of the Tosas was visiting Kennels on this coast with some people from Europe.
This person called me and said that if I did not take the whole litter that they would be dead in a couple days. I told him to go ahead and bring them with him when he came down. Now Barbara wanted to trade the rest of the litter for Stud service. When the puppies arrived I was devastated at what I saw. The litter was three months old and the largest puppy weighed 9 lbs. The smallest puppy a male was 5lbs. I gave him to a friend in hopes that he would survive through the night. It was touch and go for many weeks. Love, care and one on one attention brought that puppy back. This puppy would never be a show or even a pet quality, just a placement Tosa.
The remaining puppies had parvo and that started a whole nother problem. I had a litter on the ground at the time and because of these puppies my new puppies contracted parvo. I have never had and kind of disease before or since this problem. I ended up loosing one puppy from the rescue litter and saving all the rest, including my own puppies. All reaming puppies from the rescue litter were placed as pet quality NOT to be bred.
I write this for all Breeders to see so if this person tries to buy a dog you know what you are dealing with. We should all bond together to stop this kind of abuse. Thank you for your time.
This is the female that the puppies were out of. Take note of the deplorable conditions that they are living in.

The top two pictures are of the 5lb. male puppy. The middle picture he is
standing beside a alarm clock, the bottom picture is of the females out of the
rescue litter. Take note these puppies were 3 months old in the picture. I took
the pictures the day the puppies arrived so it would be documented.
Update:
I received a e-mail from Barb Smith with an e-mail address for the Argentine Dogo breed. I write this so if you are looking and come across this person ask many questions.
