The Tosa-Ken at StoneWall

Marlin Hardee 
(A.K.A. Northcoast Tosas)

      Back in 1997 I sold Mr. Hardee a Black male Tosa. When said Tosa was paid in full, Mr. Hardee received his paper work. Mr. Hardee contacted me about acquiring a female black. I informed him that I only had one and that I was keeping this female for our breeding program. After much persuasion I agreed to sell her to Mr. Hardee on the condition that I received pick female puppy back. I sent her to California in season to ensure that that the Male Tosa and her would not have issues. I also informed Mr. Hardee not to breed her because of her age, she was not two yet. When said female was to be bred after the age of two, I was to be informed of copulation and dates of birthing to ensure my pick puppy. This was not to be.

     Mr. Hardee bred her as soon as she got off the plane. Did not inform me of said pregnancy and I did not know about the puppies until the age of 4 weeks. I informed him that I needed video footage to pick out my puppy. He told me it was on the way. It never came. Then I told him to take pictures of all puppies so I could pick out my female. This never happened. Mr. Hardee then informed me that the solid black female was the pick ,I said fine I will send some one over to pick her up. Mr. Hardee would not let them come to his home, they had to meet him at a park in Oakland,CA. When the people arrived home they called me and informed me that the puppy had allot of white on it and was in VERY poor condition.

    I have him on tape admitting the fact that he switched puppies with out informing me first. Did not give veterinarian care till close to 8 weeks and also admitted to the fact that there was a possibility that the puppy could have been hit in the head while in his care. Enclosed below are the documents from an affiliate of UC Davis and pictures of the puppy and the obvious condition and state that it was in. This was a painful event to know that my bloodline was in such a condition. If you have any questions concerning this matter feel free to call me directly.
